Professional Career

Matt’s interest and education in the construction industry started at an early age, and have been priorities throughout his life. During his education and training, Matt not only focused on excelling in qualifications to serve in the construction industry, but aspired to grow and learn alongside leaders in the field who inspired him. Matt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, and worked for various home and commercial builders in Florida prior to relocating to Asheville and beginning his career at Buchanan Construction. Today, Matt serves as the Vice President of Commercial Construction, overseeing Buchanan Construction’s Commercial Division including Planned Development projects. He inspires the company toward growth and success through his immense dedication to the Buchanan team and clients, and his daily commitment to exceptional leadership.

Free Time & Family

“My family is my greatest joy in life. My wife and I have been married for nearly a decade and a half and have been friends since we were young. We have two miracle children and love traveling together. In my free time, my favorite things are hiking, camping, fishing and sports with friends.”

What’s your favorite thing about working at Buchanan?

“The thing I enjoy most about working with the Buchanan team is the team itself. We are not just coworkers, but family who support each other through business collaboration and life’s ups and downs.”

Favorite Project

“My favorite project working with Buchanan has been the Asheville Christian Academy strength training facility. Being a small part of their growth in not only a building project, but building young minds into stronger youth for the future was an honor.”
