Building Ambassador
Judy Dinelle
CGP, CAPS, AMA
Judy is the building ambassador for 84 Lumber. Her position is the liaison between the Home Builders Association, similar organizations, and 84 Lumber on a national level.
Judy has been in the building business for over 36+ years with which she has held a variety of positions from carpenter, to sub-contractor (all phases of construction), to contractor sales representative where she has won 14 sales awards, and a top gun performance winner.
Judy has been involved in the Home Builders Association for over 20+ years. She has served in many levels on the local level from Chairing gold key, table top, Build PAC, and legislative committees. She has served on many board of directors and is a NAHB director. In 2014, the Asheville, NC HBA honored her with the Career Achievement Award which is the highest level of recognition bestowed upon an AHBA member. The award honors dedication, loyalty, and commitment to the home building industry.
Judy has served on the NC State level since 2008, from serving on a variety of committees to Chair of the Student Chapters Council and has a seat on the Board of Directors. She was named a presidential Appointee from 2017 to 2021. She has also obtained her designation of Accredited Master Associate. She has been very instrumental in the Professional Women in Building Council. She received the prestigious Award naming her the Distinguished Associate Member of the Year for 2014.
In Asheville, NC, she was the Vice Chair and Charter Member, then assumed the Position of Chair of the Professional Women in Building. On the NC State Level she became a member in 2008 and held positions of Treasurer, Secretary, Vice Chair, and Chair.
On the national level, she has been a member since 2008, and currently serves as Vice Chair of Membership and Co-Chair or the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force. She is also a past Associate Members Chair. She also serves as an advisor to the chair of the Professional Women in Building and has previously served or chaired all sub Committees. She was appointed as an Area Trustee in 2012 and a Regional Trustee in 2014, and she served as National Chair 2018. She also was named National Member of the Year in 2012 and the 2019 Woman of the Year.
Judy serves on the National Home Builders Association since 2008 and sits on the Leadership Council. She is a Life Spike and is currently the vice chair of membership, and Co-Chair of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Task Force. She also sits on the Board of The Leading Suppliers Counsel. She is also active in the Remodelers, 55+, and Building Systems Councils. She also was involved in the 20 clubs. She is a past chair of the Associates Committee, The Professional Women in Construction, and Corporate Chair of the leading Suppliers Council for two consecutive years. She was a past Master of Ceremonies for the Best in Green Awards and the Student Chapter Awards. She is also a presenter in the National Awards Ceremony. She is also involved in Construction Careers and Work force development task force. She works with HBI, and Team Worx to help the betterment of our future in the building industry.
Judy was named National Member of the Year in 2012 for Professional Women in Building.
Judy was named the 2019 Woman of the Year for Professional Women in Building.
Judy was named the 2014 “IBS Hero”.
She is a Build Pac contributor holding Gold Key at the local, State and National Levels.
Judy holds designations of Certified Green Professional, Certified Aging in Place Specialist, and Accredited Master Associate.
She holds a Champion Degree in Wellness Within Your Walls.
Judy also is an active member in the Western North Carolina Green Building Association in which she sat on the board for three consecutive terms.
She is also a member of the USGBC.
Her other building industry and community involvements include the Chamber of Commerce, Habitat for Humanity, Hearts for Hands, and a judge for Skills USA Carpentry Competition, and the NC Department of Commerce Carpentry Competition. She is also involved in numerous local charities and construction career education programs.
Judy is also an umpire for fast pitch softball and a referee for volleyball. She officiates for the NCAA, State of North Carolina, United States of America Softball (USA), United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA), World Fast Pitch Association, and many local youth associations.
She is married and currently resides in Asheville NC
