Founder
Jacob Brillhart is the founder of the architecture firm, Brillhart Architecture, which has offices in Miami and Savannah, GA. The firm has won numerous design awards and has been featured in The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Dwell, Dezeen, The Wall Street Journal, Wallpaper, Casa Vogue, Modern Magazine, and Ocean Home, among other publications, as well as the Netflix series, "The World's Most Extraordinary Homes."
Jacob has extensive construction knowledge, having worked as a general contractor in New York City for almost a decade for H.C. Kranichfeld, Inc; and has also built several other personal projects himself, including the Brillhart House in Miami and the Brillhut in Eleuthera, Bahamas.
His construction knowledge has had a great influence on the firm’s design philosophy. Brillhart Architecture is known for prioritizing structure as the architecture and working with a range of materials and construction assemblies. Using these tools the office hopes to re-define the relationship between the building and landscape – essentially developing more natural environments for living and working in the tropics.
Before moving to Savannah, Brillhart complemented his practice as an Associate Professor at the University of Miami School of Architecture, where he taught design and drawing. Jacob earned his BA in Architecture at Tulane University and his Masters of Architecture from Columbia University.
