Gregg Cantor, President/CEO, began working for Murray Lampert Design, Build, Remodel in 1977, learning all things for the home from the ground up, inside and outside starting, with construction clean-up on jobsites. Later, Gregg worked as carpenters helper, framing room additions, before moving on to assistant superintendent in 1982. After only a few months, Gregg grew into a full-time superintendent, running over 25 projects at one time throughout San Diego County.

Over the years, Gregg has been responsible for managing the design – build of over 2,500 home remodeling and construction projects, including ground up, major renovations, solar, landscaping, pools, outdoor living etc.

After buying out his grandfather Murray Lampert in 1990, Gregg shifted roles to focus on sales, marketing and administration for the company.

Over the years, Gregg has built many relationships with customers, trade partners, city officials and the media. He has made many appearances on local news in San Diego, co-hosted home improvement shows on ABC TV and IHeart Radio, guested on national podcasts, as well as being quoted in national publications, educating consumers on all aspects of architectural, interior design, home improvement, construction and maintenance.

Rachel Walker (Cantor), Gregg's daughter, is the Vice President of Operations and the fourth generation in the family business. Rachel joined Murray Lampert DBR, after graduating from Miami University of Ohio with a Bachelor of Creative Arts Degree in Architecture. Rachel developed a holistic understanding of the construction process from participating in projects around the world.

She studied at the University of Newcastle in Australia, at the UAA Studio in Germany and at the Over-the-Rhine Design Build Studio in Cincinnati. Her focus is to produce designs that integrate the clients’ needs with an efficient technique.

Rachel's began her full time career at Murray Lampert on the design side, working under our staff architect. She learned construction and remodeling by visiting job sites, handling measure offs, completing construction documents, job costing, working with consultants, submitting projects to municipalities as well as, communicating with customers, trade partners and the team. Rachel also did a fair share of project management, before shifting over to the sales side, where she wears a second hat as the sales manager.

Rachel and Gregg are a father - daughter team who regularly meet with homeowners for consultations.
