Ever come out of a meeting and wonder what just happened? If so, the meeting was probably hijacked. Poorly run meetings are inefficient and dreaded by those that have to attend them on a regular basis.
So what makes a good meeting? Structure, purpose, and a sense of accomplishment. One of the best examples of this is the Level 10 Meeting concept developed by EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System). For anyone that has implemented EOS in their business, or has read the book Traction, you will be familiar with this concept.
You can search the internet and come up with countless ways to conduct meetings but I have found that the Level 10 Meeting format can be applied to every meeting we hold. It’s simple and easy to follow. The basic concept is that you create a repeatable structure, share it with your team, and anyone else attending the meeting, and then STICK TO IT!
By following this format you will stay on topic, identify issues, create actionable items everyone can work on, and walk away with a feeling of accomplishment. Your meetings will begin and end on time and be much more productive for anyone attending.
